Ready for some more cool Houston Murals? Then go check out the new Art Alley on Sawyer Street.
On September 23rd, a friend of mine and I had the opportunity to attend Washington Avenue Arts District’s unveiling of a new 800 foot long wall mural installation along the south side of their Art Alley outdoor gallery. This is the second major installation of artwork in this space. The project served to promote Houston-based artists, in which twenty local artists were selected through an open call process to work their magic on approximately forty feet of wall space.
Refreshing drinks were provided by Houston’s own Karbach Brewery and Austin’s Deep Eddie Vodka.
We also had the chance to walk around The Silos at Sawyer, which is a large, multi-studio warehouse featuring more than fifty-five work-spaces. While exploring, we had to pleasure of meeting the lovely German artist from Madly Art & Design.
So now you know where to find those cool new murals all your friends keep posting on Instagram! 😉
