Nosh: Fig & Olive

Just this March, Fig & Olive opened the doors of its sixth location here in the Houston Galleria. Inspired by the Provence region in the south of France, Fig & Olive captures the essence and taste of the Mediterranean. Their menu focuses on Italian, Spanish, and French traditional recipes that have been reinvented in a contemporary way.

The moment you enter Fig & Olive, you will find plenty of natural light, outdoor terraces and all of that casual chic ambiance typical of the Mediterranean. They have a very sophisticated, yet relaxing atmosphere that makes it the perfect spot to celebrate with your friends and family.

You can stop by for a refreshing cocktail at the bar, enjoy a meal in their dining area, or even have a private event in one of their lovely rooms for a unique culinary experience.

This past Saturday, we had the wonderful opportunity to attend their Bubbles & Brunch special event, which featured select Veuve Clicquot pairings, a live DJ, and some door prizes.

At brunch we tried a traditional orange juice mimosa with:
Octopus Carpaccio: Piquillo pepper purée, heirloom potatoes, black olive dust, pimenton dressing (our favorite!)
Fig & Olive Salad: manchego, fig, gorgonzola dolce, apple, tomato, olive, scallion, walnut
Tomato Bisque: tomato gelée, manchego crouton, arbequina oi

Rosé Veuve Clicquot champagne paired with:
Chicken Paillard: arugula, brussels sprout, haricot vert, red bell pepper, pickled red onion, almond, lemon
Provençal Baked Eggs: two farm fresh eggs, niçoise olives, ratatouille vegetables, picholine dressing

Traditional Veuve Clicquot champagne with dessert:
Dessert “Crostini”: mixed berries, prosecco syrup & whipped mascarpone
Pot de Crème: milk & white chocolate, meringue crisp & praline

We even had a chance to meet the chef! 😉

Meet your friends after work for Happy Hour at the bar, (every day from 4pm to 7pm) or come by for dinner or brunch on the weekend. Doesn’t matter when you come, Fig & Olive will not disappoint you!
