Nosh: Elliot’s Table

One of the best things about living in Houston, is that we are a HUGE foodie city! However, just because we have so many restaurant options that doesn’t necessarily mean that it is easy to find a great restaurant where you can find great food and feel like you are at home… but lucky for us, we found Elliot’s Table!

Just last week, in the midst of the Astros playing in the World Series, my good friend Kristen and I had the pleasure of visiting this charming neighborhood restaurant in the Heights area and we absolutely LOVED it! We felt welcomed from the start and you can tell that the staff truly enjoys working there and that they are passionate about the food that they serve. Best part, you can see Elliot and his team working in the kitchen with all those fresh and local ingredients. From fresh fish from the Gulf to organic local vegetables!

Fun Fact: Elliot went St. Thomas High School, one of the all-boys Catholic high schools in Houston and Kristen and I went to Incarnate Word Academy of the all-girl Catholic high schools in town. It was funny to find out that we knew a few of the same people!

Elliot and his team shared with us the story of how his family style meals concept all started. He mentioned that one Monday evening, he had a few friends over for dinner that also worked in the hospitality industry and they were just hanging out, eating, listening to music and just simply enjoying each other’s company and that’s when it clicked!…. It was time to venture out and start his own restaurant where he could share his love for cooking with everyone ALL the time! All we have to say is that we are so thankful for making his idea a reality in November 2018, because that food he is making at Elliot’s Table is totally on point!

Here are a few of the delicious entrees that we tried:

Shared Plates
Roasted Oysters: Herb Butter, Bacon, Charred Citrus, Cheese
IMG_0053Portuguese Octopus: Tapioca Starch, Chili Oil, Aioli, Micro Greens

Roasted Beet Salad:  Goat Cheese, Roasted Purple & Golden Beets, Balsamic, Prosciutto, Pecans

Ribeye and Fries for 2: Frontier USDA Prime, Garlic Herb Butter, Fresh Cut Fries, Roasted Sprouts
