Nosh: Cloud 10 Creamery

We had the pleasure of visiting Cloud 10 Creamery  recently and fell in love with their ice cream and the story behind how it all started.

Cloud 10 Creamery is the only ice cream shop in Houston with a chef-driven menu. Chris Leung, co-owner, is an award-wining pastry chef and worked in the restaurant industry for years. Cloud 10’s ice cream is always made from scratch with unique flavors you can not buy anywhere else! In the four years since it opened, they made over 250 flavors!!

When we asked Chris how the name “Cloud 10” came about, he mentioned his nine year old cousin at the time said, “Well, what’s better than cloud 9? Cloud 10!” and it stuck ever since.c10-1First, we started out with their signature item… the Banana Split! It’s the perfect combination of flavors and textures, from crunchy to sweet to savory… It was just an exhilarating explosion of deliciousness! ❤

How Cloud 10 Creamery creates the “Ultimate Banana Split”

Fun Fact: The conception of Cloud 10 started with the banana split. One day Chris and his restaurant partner craved a banana split but didn’t know where to go, so Chris ordered an ice cream machine and had it shipped overnight. From there, it was history 🙂fullsizeoutput_29669 Cloud 10 is always creating different specials for their customers. They offer Cookie Sandwich Mondays, Waffle (sundae) Wednesday, S’mores Sundae, and dessert tastings!

We tried their Cookie Sandwich with Goat Cheese Ice Cream with Milk Chocolate shavings (their most popular spring flavor) squished between freshly baked sugar cookies. Yuummm!

Fun Fact: Before their brick & mortar store, Cloud 10 Creamery sold their ice cream to many popular restaurants. Many still serve their ice cream, including Bosta Kitchen.

We also tried their popular Popsicle flavors: Cookies & Cream and Nutella Rocky Road

Flavors:
What is really cool about Cloud 10 Creamery is that they offer 10 new unique flavors each season. For Spring 2017, they have some flavors like: strawberry with banana jam, goat cheese with milk chocolate, peach curry sorbet, matcha with dulce de leche and many more! …. But don’t worry, if you are a classics lover, they always have these:

The concept was created by Chris Leung and Christopher Balat in 2014 based on the concept of fresh ingredients and handcrafted ice cream created in small batches. Leung’s experience and creativity resulted in a menu of ice cream flavors infusing traditional and adventurous ingredients. In addition to original flavors always in rotation like Nutella & Marshmallow and Toasted Rice, season flavors  are offered like the current spring menu’s Strawberry Ice Cream with Banana Jam and Cilantro Ice Cream with Roasted Pineapples.
